I dared myself to buy one of these and then dared myself to buy one of each... Athaya Vintage 6105 homage, These are available in four configurations, black or blue, date or non date. I only bought the date models. The main selling point for me was a true crown at 4:00 so I think these have potential for all kinds of vintage Seiko swaps. Specs from the Athaya website: Watch Full specifications : anyway here are some quick and dirty shots from this morning... wrist shot on a nato: These have a beautiful classic 6105 case shape and crown design, the bezels on all of these modern homages don't seem to have a straight coin edge, instead they taper in towards the insert a bit. I thought I would be disappointed by the not quite Seiko inspired dial but I really like it in person. There is no point mentioning the lume it's not Luminova, it's dim but visible all night. The nice 70's style spear diver case back: Signed crown: perfectly captured the classic Seiko look and feel of the case: I added a vintage style buckle to complete the look: Last edited on Sun May 3rd, 2015 01:31 pm by OldeCrow |
