Okay, here's the latest.  Because nothing was working out, I figured God wanted me to get my rear in gear and do it myself.  Ergo, I donned appropriate clothing, picked up shovel, and attempted to go out the back door.

Forget it!  Snow was one foot high against it and, when I attempted to open it, all I could manage was 2 inches.  It was a solid wall of snow.  I had to use the side edge of the shovel to try and cut through it and NOTHING HAPPENED!!!!!   The stuff remained upright and in position........that's how wet and heavy it is.

So, I said to myself, "myself, figure out SOMEthing 'cause it's going to single digits for the next couple of days and, no way in hell, is anything going to melt".  Using the little brute force I have, I bashed against the door, moving it 8 inches and that was enough for me to step out sideways into the white hell of the back of the estate.  :)

Then, the real fun began.  It was 13.5 inches in depth (easily measured since it stayed in place) from the back door to the first drift blocking the garage door.  Could only shovel a teensy bit at a time and toss it( the bloody snow kept sliding off the shovel).  But, where I tossed kept getting higher and the snow kept sliding down the miniature hills.

I am 5'6" and the drift was to my shoulder+ and extended for yards and yards (20-30, at least).  I had to cut down thru the stuff, and remove it in 3 layers.  And that just cleared about 10" at a time.  The drive slants upward to the front of the property.  I couldn't do it all--exhaustion, no place to put the snow, unable to toss it high enough all played a part.

The front porch was the same--can't get out the front door without shoveling the 2-foot wall of the white stuff.

Suffice to say, that my wrists are shot to hell and I've popped a Darvocet, hoping it kicks in before I have the heart attack that's awaiting me.

Finally, there may be no TODAY tomorrow.
