I bought some cigars from a vendor at the local Bazaar. A couple Cohiba's, Hoyo De Monterrey and another with no name just a big R on the paper ring. The guy also had some Monte Christo's, but I don't know if they're Cuban or Dominican. How can I tell? Do you guys think these are real? I know customs aren't letting any back into the states. Any advice is helpful. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your service.

Can't help you on the cigars, the only Cuban I ever smoked was in Canada and it tasted like a dried up dog turd.

Another way to tell is that when you're smoking it the ash should have more carbons in it giving it a charcoal color instead of being straight up white.  There are some fakes out there, but you can spot those from a mile away by the wrapper.  If it's embossed with Cuba, or Habana on it you're safe.  If it looks like someone did it on their computer, they probably did.
