Believe me, I am no liberal enviromentalist... my carbon footprint is impressive!!

I can't argue with your points and won't. They only thing that really made me think was trying to remember that other thing al Gore won besides the Nobel? Now what was that??face4.gif

1st Prize for inventing the INTERNET!!! subtlelaugh.gif

I also believe he won something for being the "model" for Erich Segal's novel, "Love Story", and then there was something about 3 Mile Island....what he did NOT win was the 2000 Presidential Election, hanging chads, or not...mistake.gif...he is truly a man with fantasies...he has more "war stories" than Hillary dodging sniper fire in Bosnia! face4.gif

Ahhh.. global warming.  Ya know, if we would have listened to the preachers of this religion called environmentalism back in the late seventies, we would be in a world of crap.  I seem to remember on the cover of time magazine "THE COMING ICE AGE"   Where would we be now if we tried to head that off?  Did you hear the polar caps are shrinking on Mars?  I guess we have something to do with that.  Guess what the 2 planets have in common?  THE SUN.  It goes through 11 year cycles of increased solar flare activity.  When that happens guess what?  Increased heat.
There are HUNDREDS of years of oil available and believe it or not, there are still fossils being converted to oil.  We can responsibly drill for oil without a major impact on the environment.  If we would just drill for the oil that is there and build some new refineries to keep up with he demand then the prices wouldnt be so high.  I also agree that nuclear power is a way to go.
As for hybrids, they are a scam.  Being in the auto trade let me tell you about them.  If you need heat, the gas engine has to run.  If you need A/C, the gas engine has to run.  If you travel at high speeds, the gas engine has to run.  Only if you live where the temp is 70* year round and drive less than 45 mph, then a hybrid is for you.  Also according to osha law.  To work on one 2 techs must be present.  First a 6 foot perimeter must be set up. Then the tech working on the car inside the perimeter.  Then a tech with a 6 foot fiberglass pole with a hook on the end to pull the other guy off the car if he is getting electrocuted.  Not to mention the little light on the dash that tells you to pull over and exit the car that it is ready to melt down.  Yea, Ill take 2.
Finally for this kyoto treaty.   If the enviros were really seriuos about pollution, why isnt China required to follow the same rules?  Its all about crushing capitalism... and who is capitalism?  The U.S.A.
Sorry for the long rant, I saw others post and I had to get my 2 cents in.

What a day. I woke up to it snowing. Then by 10 AM it was raining and then at noon the sun came out. Now we are having a very heavy hail storm!

This morning the temp was 31 degrees and right now it says it's 38 degrees out side. :?

I hate to say it, but it is VERY warm here in Scottsdale. Sunny and high 80's today. We're looking at above normal temps now for the rest of the month.

Actually you are right.  It was a beautiful week here in PA.  Going to get some rain tonight and tomorrow and a little cooler.  Spring is finally here.
