You sound like me except I did more like 8 years...helicopter pilot!  That explains the DFC in your avatar.  Thank you for your service!

Welcome, dude from Bama.  I'll be there in a few weeks.  Going to Dauphin Island.  Never thought of Bama as a vacation destination.  Stumbled across the "island" and gulf shores area when I was looking at real estate.  Looks like fun and can't wait to go.  Have fun in the forum.

great fishing around the oil rigs. don't forget about the ferry,

yep...Big Red One...ran Recon out of the 1/4 Cav and commanded the famous Bandido Charlie, 1/16th INF.  Did the Thunders, the road to Song Be, Nui Bha Dinh, Nui Bha Rha, the Iron Triangle, the Trapazoid, Fishhook, Parrots Beak and the Micheline rubber...not to mention VC Island.

Welcome to the Forum from the Old North State!  I have family down in Bama...Mobile.  I enjoyed the Gulf Shores and Biloxi prior to Katrina...has the Gulf Shores area built back up?  It was very nice as I remember. Anyway, Glad to have you in the forum!  Tim.
