That would work but I don't see anything with blue stitching...

Per your request. And thanks for your opinions.

Seems its common knowledge I have lost my mind! yourock.gif Well to paraphrase a great American author, "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most." This thing has been super comfy on the rubber. Still checking my options... The consensus seems to be this is a not the strap for the Fireman. Thanks for looking and sharing your thoughts!:D

I like it Mark. No doubt the black w/ blue stitching would be hot too; so go for both!

I'll go against the conventional wisdom here and say I think it looks good on the wrist. YMMV :)

Supposedly waterproof leather. Anybody believe that? I would go with the blue accents stitching.

Yea there ya go Mark. That would do the trick well. And yea the leather is treated for water resistancy. Not sure how waterproof it will be or for how long but it looks good and if the price is right.... ;)

I taught weather effects at a jump master course recently wearing a mod Seiko 6309 with the orange accented band. It got wet, dusty, muddy, and dragged thru the grass. It cleaned up pretty well but I could smell the sweat/leather bouquet and decided that I will stick with rubber/silicone next time.

Hope that helps.

Doug

This bottom of this page has a beautiful Ball Rubber strap with a nice signed buckle. It seems a little spendy for rubber but you know it's a great Ballâ„¢ product and it will feel just right. No second thoughts with this selection.

By the way, the Fireman is offered with colored stitching on black leather as well. I like the blue stitching too.

As for the Rubber Oyster style; Guess whose opinion really only matters on the subject?...

That's right, the chick you're chatting up.

Skipdawg, at last someone with a similar view-point to mine! "Does this work, or have I lost my mind"...  For me, the two propositions being questioned, effectivness OR mild insanity, would not be mutually exclusive.

Do we have a thread that discusses the whole WR question in a rational and informed way? I know the bit about 200 metres WR doesn't mean you can actually go down 200 metres, but surely some nominal 200 metres WR watches we see are just not up to diving standard by their general design and manufacture.  Water reistance cannot be all, surely? At the other end of the scale, I saw recently a 3 ATM "diver's" watch.  Sure, on the web, but some suckers are going to buy them, and won't understand they may not even perform in mildly driven rain.  Anyone for puddle-diving?

So that thread: please do we have one?

What about a sailcloth strap? Hey, even B&M Capelands and the new Blancpain Fifty Fathoms sport them these days!

Cheers,

Marcello GT

PS: BTW, that's a very attractive piece you have there.
