Anyone know if it's possible to disassemble the Monstrum to get the bezel separated from the case?

I recall reading here somewhere that the Sea Angler case and bezel are manufactured as a unit...hoping that's not the case with the Monstrum...got a modding project in mind. :)

Not an expert, so hopefully someone chimes in but I highly doubt a rotating bezel is fixed to the case?? You should be able to pop off the bezel and do what you want. How that is done is for one of the watchgeeks here to tell ya:D

the bezel and cases are one piece units by assembly and not production on both the Monstrum and the Sea Angler and not meant to be removed....it will come off with the right tools but there is no guarantee you will get it back on.subtlelaugh.gif

Ha ha!  I'll post pix...if I can pull this off.  Don't want to say what I have planned, because then I'd just be talking.  I'd rather make sure I can back it up first. ;)

Hi all!

Sorry for exhumating this thread but has anyone managed to get the bezel off safely?

I am new to this Monstrum thing ;) and generally love the experience but I am already struggling to cope with the bling of the bezel and I am planning to blast it (if I can't take it off then I will blast it with it on the watch, I'm serious!) :D

I don't own a Monstrum, but I did remove the Sea Angler bezel to repair some damage I did on a door latch. I was able to get it off; but I would not advise doing it.

The spring holding the bezel to the case rides in a very narrow groove which tends to deform, as the spring itself isn't round. It completes a circle through a series of shallow bends, leaving a dozen or more corners around its circumference.

Best to leave it to the pros,

I have had success with the angler removal but the monstrum is more difficult to remove, search my posts, you will find pics of the angler removed bezel and parts
cheers

Sounds like yours went better than mine, Huck. Do you recall what the spring inside the bezel was like?

I had a hell of a time with it. I have the automatic version which might be different. Or I was going about it all wrong..

It was more of a Ring than a spring, also there was a half wire with a small bend on the end

The one I opened was the Quartz version, they may be different?

Jay at MotorCity Watchworks removed my bezel on the Monstrum for a beadblast job. He did have to replace the retention ring that broke when he removed it. He is one of the few I know who has done this succesfully.

I'm almost sure it has been asked and answered, but is the Monstrum's bezel replaceable with Viper's or Angler's one?
