We also have a JR she is 12 and still likes to kill small furry things, some times big furry things. She took out a Possum this summer. I don't think it knew what hit it. It was just after dusk and she perks up and goes to the back door. Figuring she has to go I open the door for her and instead of her usual barking to announce that she is here she shoots off into the darkness. I hear a sound like something falling and think she has run inot a planter or something. Grab a flashlight and ther she is her muzzle covered in blood standing proudly over a full sized possum with it's neck torn open. Lovely now I have to clean this up. My wife takes the dog and checks her over, not a scratch on her. She cleans her mouth out with alcohol and in the morning calls the vet to make sure she is OK (Rabies booster to be sure). Such loving dogs that turn into monsters when their natural prey walks into the yard.

She is really mad at me in this pic.
