Well, its my yearly plug for my Lions Club Antique Tractor Festival.  This whole thing was my idea and has grown leaps and bounds in the past 8 years.  Hope #9 is even bigger.  I am still the chairman of the show(no one else crazy enough to take it over) it is a lot of work.  I will be down at our park from tomorrow night til sunday eve putting in 16 to 18 hour days.  This years bug thing is our newly restored antique Farquahar Sawmill and the expansion of our showgrounds.  Anyone in pa, oh, md, or wv looking for something to do this weekend check us out.  You dont have to be interested in tractors to have a good time.  Its good, down home, family fun.  Our website is http://www.stoystownlions.org  Click on the tractor show page to check us out. All money raised goes back into the community to help those in their time of need.  Here are some pics form last years show.ThumbsUp02.gif

That looks like it would be a blast but it is way to far away for me to drive there.  I think it is great that you are willing to give up some of your free time to help others.  Have fun at your antique tractor festival, cheers.

Just got back tonight from the show grounds.  Already have near 50 tractors and the show doesnt start till thurs.  hand6.gif  I belted my big Deere up to the sawmill today for the first time to put the mill through its paces.  Everything worked as it should. yahoo.gif This sawmill project was 7 years in the making.  Thanks for a few good people and alot of patience and  perseverance it is finally done.  Cant wait to put some logs on it thursday and start making some lumber.  Next project is getting a roof over it to protect it from the elements.  We will finally get to put up some buildings using lumber sawn from the mill.  This will save us big money in the long run.

Scott...thanks for all the effort you put into helping others...A sign of character on many levels. yourock.gif

Now...the last time I had anything to do with tractors was running security for a Rome Plow Operation to clear the jungle on the road to Phuoc Vinh!

Thanks Ken,  that means alot to me coming from you.  Dont really ever hear that said.  I put %110 into everything I do for our Lions Club.  Especially the tractor show.  I think it shows with just how much we have grown in just a short 9 years.  I have to admit, I am getting a little burned out.  Thank goodness we have some new younger members who have taken some of the load off of me and, if the show runs as smoothly as the past 2 days have, it should turn out alright.  in the end though, seeing families enjoying themselves during the show and then when we help a family burned out of their home get back on their feet makes it all worth it.  happy1.gif
