I thought it would be interesting to hear what we all gave our significant others and what was recieved from them. In my case I gave my wife a saltwater pearl ring set in white gold and accented with diamonds along with a matching bracelet with a single pearl and accented with diamonds. She wanted to do something as nice and I told her I needed a new phone since I've been using the same one for 3yrs now. She got me an iPhone 3gS. What did you guys get? And if you didn't get something, but did something you wanted then that qualifies as well. Merry Christmas everybody.

We actually stopped buying each other gifts on Christmas and for that matter any holidays.....when I want something I buy it, and when she wants something she buys it.

I'll buy her watches, jewelry, send her her flowers, etc. but it is never on a day or holiday when she expects it.....it is always out of the blue and for no reason at all.

We weren't supposed to get each other gifts, but the second half of my enlistment bonus came in and I wanted to do something nice for her. She then felt obligated to do something for me, but she probably would have gotten me something anyway because holidays and birthdays are a big deal in her family.

As a child I never received any presents,
which made me felt left out from my classmates
in elementary and highschool years.

The first and last gift that I've received was my
grandfather's old watch from 2 years ago.

Unfortunately, that poor watch gave up the
ghost.

Well.........this thread has definately not gone the way I had hoped. I realise there are different holiday traditions and experiences amongst the members here that are both good and bad. My intent was to try and convey the fact that I was in a position to do something nice for someone I Love and she in turn did something nice for me and to share the joy that is inherent in that. I was hoping my friends here would in turn share the special thing they did for a person they Love and what that person did for them, if anything. Or, if it was a special family get together that was a really good time. I guess I came across in my original posting as sounding more materialistic. I apologise for that. I hope everyone had as good of a Christmas as possible this year and I wish everyone good health and fortune in the coming year.

Murph, don't sweat it. Different strokes for different folks. hand6.gif

In my case, since my wife loves purses and bags, I gave her another Louis Vuitton bag in a different style and color from her usual; a small mechanical winding music box (about 1 inch thick by 2 inches long and about 1.5 inches wide) and the music box plays Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called To Say I Love You" each time you wind it up and and a new Canon S90 point and shoot camera that she can use for the kids' activities.

I got from her a big can of my favorite M&Ms subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif and a big, wet kisstoon1.gif

Well... Let's see; I got my wife a Coach messenger bag for netbook laptop and some more Estee Lauder perfume and makeup.

And since I am like many of you, I buy my own stuff all through the year. My poor wife is always perplexed during holidays as to what to get me. I ended up repackaging my newest procurement and offering it to give to me. But she did return the favor and bought me some more of my cologne.

Hahaha. I know the feeling, Phil. We seem to know what to give our wives and kids but they always are in a dilemna what to give us. They seem to think we are complex characters aside from being great husbands/dadssubtlelaugh.gif.

My wife and family are the same way. I always say I don't want anything, but my wife will keep bugging me till I give in.

Well, the wifey got me a craftsman 5 piece cordless tool combo kit with drill, impact driver, light, circular saw and reciprocating saw with a carrying case.  Also got me the new hallmark train and plane ornaments that I collect.  Plus the usual underwear and some pants.  Also got a 100 foot roll of chainsaw chain so I can make my own chains.

I got her a two watch set from... you guessed it, Invicta.  The one watch has a hummingbird on and and she loves hummingbirds so I had to get her that.  It also came with 10 straps.  Got her a pajamagram toon1.gif  a new cell phone, Barbi ornament, some music cd's and a bunch of new outfits.

the inlaws have their exchange student from Mexico from over 30 years ago visiting for the week.  He is 50 now and brought his wife and 2 kids along.  Have been learning alot about Mexico.  I would say he is sort of a wis as he has a really nice Oris automatic.  His daughter Carla is a big star athlete in Mexico.  She is going to try out for the olympics in 2011.  She does the kayak races.  They are very nice people.  Tonight we are taking them to their first hockey game to see the Johnstown chiefs.

Murph, youre gonna love you new iphone!

I usually get my wife a gift certificate to Nordstom's as I do (in her opinion) such a poor job of gift selection.  But to me Christmas is all about kids, so the boys got a new dog (a rescue black wire hair terrier and God knows what mix named Romeo) plus an XBOX 360 Elite, a bunch of games and some DS Games.  Wife got a nice purse this year and a Gator hoody plus, she got another rescue that she saw that she just couldn't live without...a Bischon/poodle/terrier mix named Henry.  Pictures of dogs with boys:

Ken , that is such a great picture.......congrats.....on a couple of great kids.

My wife and I agreed not to buy each other gifts this year, but instead go out to dinner more and try and add an extra vacation away.

However, I lied....and got her this nice necklace she liked. I gave it to her Christmas morning at 0001hrs., She was mad because I got it, (only for a moment though) ,

Anyway we had a very nice easy going christmas at my Son Luke,e ...with his two dogs, our two Jack Russell Terrorists, (who lived up to their name) they terrorized my son's dogs.

And then on the 26th, my son Colin arrived with his girl friend....and  his girlfriend's yellow lab....there were as many dogs as people..

Through out ..the two new baby girls slept with all the barking and noise...

Really great babies... My wife and I broght up a ton of food and made a couple of great dinners, Cghristmas night and the next two nights... so my son's wife could take it easy

A very good christmas weekend, we spoke several times with my other son Bryan, who hung out with a couple of his buddies, I manage his bank account for him, have been doing it since he went into the service.....so I told him to check his account, ....And go have a good time...... He did.....he went out with his buddies for a christmas night feast... Thumbsup3.gif
