Hi 3T.

I've recently been loading up on assorted widths and makes of Natos and Zulus from 2 3T sponsors in various colors (blues, blacks, dark grays, light grays, lavenders, browns, tans, khakis, greens, signal reds, coast guard oranges) and various makes of hardware (low lite, polished steel, PVD). I rediscovered these straps but practically grew up as a teen on a Skunk, a James Bond, and various regimentals. Back then, my pieces were plain vanilla Vietnam-issue Timexes and Hammis----handed down to me by uncles that were in the service and also from my dad's buddies.

I like the way the strap flows out of the lugs and somehow the Zulu/Nato presents the head on a higher profile on one's wrist. With heavy steel bracelets, one feels the entire weight of the watch ---- and you can't tell the difference ---- but when using the Zulus/Natos, the wearer feels the entire watchhead 100%. IMHO, this is a great feeling.

Here are just some of them but I have 18s, 20s, 22s and 24s.

I'll show more as we go along over the next few months but thanks for looking. I'd recommend these for WIS that want a different feel on the wrist.ThumbsUp02.gif

Thanks, Nic. I think you should give them a try....maybe just one or 2 solid colors During the winter, they tend to get warmed up and in the summer, they allow some air to pass through. It took me time to take the plunge on these babies but it was fun rediscovering them.Drool_27.gif

The "flowout" by the Nato is hard to describe but for US$17 to US$20 a pop, they are nice toys.

Looks great Jeff!!! thumbsup.gif

Enjoy all the cool combinations that you can realize through these!!!  I'm really liking the combination of strap colors and hardware combinations (Low Lite, Matte, Brushed) that are available now days to really mix it up.

I'll admit that not all of my watches work on these, but some pieces really wear very nicely on these Nato/Zulu combinations.

I like also those Zulu straps! I avoid those Zulu/Nato "double strap" version usualy because there's not enough place between the 2 rings for some of my big watches: Those rings are coming to close the lugs(those like your black&grey straps on pic).
So the simple Zulu strap is the best for me and got a cleaner look: Like the red ones of your pics.
Anyway, I prefer Zulu or Rhino because all parts are in real stainless steel!
On classical Natos, many buckles are no more than usual steel who is chromium plated...My skin eats the plating and I got some skin rashes after.
I didn't expect this trouble as at first I thought that they was made of stainless steel but is seems that the "cheap way" is still too much around. Now my straps are still good but I can't wear them.
Note: I didn't buy those straps from flimsy-straps Asian sellers but rather from a US seller claiming that they was real UK-made straps and that's why I was expecting stainless steel on the buckle and loops.
Now, I'm done with those...blah.gif

You mix and match efforts look great.  I have a bunch of Natos, but for some reason I always fall back on bracelets, leather and rubber.  My Tudor Sub will be the exception: that just screams for 'genuine Bond'!

Hahaha. I will expect an injunction order  from the International Court of WIS to be in my mailbox soon. Sorry for enroaching on your franchise, Bill, but these straps are just too tempting. Will send you regular royalty payments bamby.gifbamby.gifbamby.gif

BINGO, amigothumbsup.gif. You hit it on the button, William and thanks for pointing this out.

The Natos are sort of not ideal for watches with lug-to-lug distances approaching 50mm and longer because the 2 inner rings clamp on each other to force the watch head to rise up. This MIGHT cause some metal-to-metal friction between the Nato harness rings and the lug horns. This happened to my Frankenmonster but after a small nudge on the FM head here and there, problem was solved. It didn't affect my Aqua Luna at all, however, and for sure my other smaller Seiko divers will be safe.

For the MM1000, I might switch to Zulu exactly as William hints.

Thanks, Graham. I am still grappling with the busy-ness of the Bond's stripes viz the watch's details but maybe on my Mako 2 or OM/BM, the Bond will be ok.

Super humid where I am now and where I will be in the next couple of weeks so leather might not be the way to go.ThumbsUp02.gif
