I received some photos of the Megalodon rubber, and I will be receiving a real sample strap soon so I can take more photos. From the photos I received I could not be more pleased with how this is turning out.

The strap look great Steve. It is a very clean design and blends with the massive lugs very well.

I am going to need a couple of those.

Another job well done!

Looks like a great rubber strap. To me, looks like both watch and strap were created at the same instant. A perfect combo and lookbravo.gif

I just received news that this rubber strap and some other 22mm rubber straps are En route to me now.

I still have 2 Megalodon watches here to test it out on. I was keeping an orange dial Meg 2 just for this rubber strap, but I let that one go to the U.K. when I picked up the Eterna Kon Tiki.

Well Steve!...sounds like you need to post up the Eterna KonTiki in the New Arrivals area when you get a moment...One of my absolute favorites!thumbsup.gif

Can't wait to see your pics of the incoming Megalodon rubber on your last remaining Megalodon test piece!

Will this be a longer strap for bigger wrists than the nautural rubber that shipped with the worldiver?

actually this strap is about the same size as the leather straps shipped with the Moray and is good for 6 - 7.5in wrist which is about average wrist size. We are considering making one for larger wrists but it is a huge investment, so we need to be selling a lot of Megalodons in the future to make that strap an option.

Here are some quick shots. The buckle is not the one that will come with the strap, the buckle isn't ready and I just put this one on, it is from a Worldiver leather strap.

Thanks, I put this Meg together with various parts. It was a polished Meg1 case that I blasted, Meg2 carbon dial from a Meg2 that had a bad movement. Meg1 hands from the Meg1 case I used. Meg2 PVD crown from the Meg2 with the bad movement.

blasting a polished case makes for a bright and semi reflective blasted surface. I think it is a great finish, and different from other blasted finishes I have here.

Steve...this looks Excellent!!!thumbsup.gif  cool.gif

Thanks for all the great pics!

That combo looks really comfortable on the wrist too!!! (How does it feel??)  No doubt this rubber definitely helps the Megalodon to wear much lighter on the wrist...as much as can be expected given the beefy case, of course.

Very nice Steve. I look forward to having one with my Meg 3.

Curious to hear how it wears with the rubber compared to the metal or a zulu since I know you wear your Megs with both.

Very nice, this makes the wait even more brutal.  I had to drop this in Photoshop to see what it looks like in my combo with the PVD and white ceramic dial, looks so awesome, I can't wait to see it in real life.  I've also attached an image to show the black bezel insert on the steel case and rubber strap, also looking sweet, I'm thinking I should have ordered both now.

nice job converting the case to PVD. I have a PVD case here I can put it on, but there are no guts in the case.

Thanks for the pics, Steve. It is really nice getting to come along for the ride of the whole process of getting Meg 3 up and running. I really feel a part of, and it adds to the meaning and personal value of the watch. Thanks.

Steve,

While that logic may sound good it does not make sense. Biggest Shark ever! Big watches attracts big guys who don't want wimpy little 40-42mm watches on our 8" wrists. The rubber strap that ships with on my inexpensive "little" 42mm Seiko divers is long enough to comfortably fit my 8" wrist.

I have every strap that shipped with the worldiver and only the metal mesh is a good fit. Even the Zulu is undersized for me. I love the mesh and my worldiver looks good on a 12" Orange ZULU from Greg Stevens. This new rubber strap looks good but is completely useless to us big guys!

Steve, any thoughts of having the "B" logo, like the one on the Benarus bracelet on stamped on each side of the rubber strap?

A Panerai is a large watch and has a rubber strap that is similar in size to ours. The one thing we did not want is for the average customer to have a bunch of extra rubber hanging off the side of the watch, the way a Seiko or Isofrane does. Our strap is branded with BENARUS engraved on the inside. These straps are complete and the specs can not be changed at this point.

Great, thank you Steve. Also, it looks like there is a " bubble" on the inside of the strap, does this help it hug the wrist better?

the shape of the strap actually makes it slide into the keepers very easy without getting stuck. Hard to explain, but if you have an isofrane you will know what I mean, getting the strap in and out of the keepers is difficult and I feel like I am going to break the keepers.

The new rubber strap looks to integrate to the Meg case nicely...gr8 job Steve and Ralf.  I'm looking forward to getting it on my wrist in the near future. I understand that the Meg leather straps are not going to be part of the Meg 3 package...however, are the straps still going to be available for additional purchasing?  Thanks.  Have a good one and Happy Collecting ALL.

We do have 100 leather straps here that fit the Megalodon. They are all black leather with the red stitch. We are getting 100 brushed buckles for them now and I will sell them on the website when we have them ready.

They will become available on the website after the Meg 3 watches have shipped. The Meg 3 customers will receive a strap with their watches. Then Meg 1 and 2 owners will be able to purchase in late September from the website.
