Hi guys.
Been making some leather zulu straps lately, but not very economical having to buy a zulu strap only to cut it up for the buckle and hardware. Looking ALL OVER the web for a place that sells hardware loose, but no joy so far. Any suggestions?
Know one can have HK companies produce, but then u have to order in a BIG scale, and the economical thing is out the window again ...

I've looked around online quite a bit and never found anything suitable (keepers or buckles) that was available in reasonable quantities.

Lots of stuff out there that's close to being suitable, but never quite right.

Rolf, i tried that before but no sources in small quantities for our hobbies. Next option is to go to a machinist and he has the materials plus the equipment to bend all that steel in precision....but it might still cost a bit.

Yeah, I was afraid of that ...But thankyou.gif guys, for the quick reply. So guess it`s back to cannibalizing those zulus. Will continue my search, and if something pops up, I´ll be sure to tell.

just google "metal rings"...most craft stores handle them as well...you may need to buy a circular ring and bend it to shape yourself or use a D-ring like in the link below...buckles should be easy to make as well...the site below also sells the webbing...

thankyou.gifOscar, good piece of information that. Will look into it, and if it materializes into something worth while (financially and not TO much work), I`ll give a shout out.

The strapworks.com thing didn`t work as the rings are not the correct width (22mm or 24mm) unfortunately. And the fact that I would have to get the buckles made also.

But, have actually found a seller here in Norway that is looking into the possibility of ordering loose hardwear both in PVD and SS for me (nato and zulu), and he has a webshop (straps.no), so if he can get it (and he thinks he can), it can be ordered from him:0) (the webshop is norwegian, but fire him an email and he replies very quickly, has so far at least)
Will post if this materializes into something (and he`s selling straps for aprox $17 now, so don`t think the hardwear will be that expensive)

It is China made, but pretty good quality ...
