I just got a Vortex last week.  It's a very nice watch, but I noticed that the crystal has a lot of glare off it.  I see the specs say it is glare coated on the inside of the crystal, but it doesn't seem to be very effective.  Maybe it's because the crystal is domed?

anti-reflective coating, which is a film that is applied to the crystal to reduce the reflection of light and improve the view of the dial....it does not eliminate all glare...

Some crystals has AR coating on both sides. Making the top film scratchable...
In my opinion, it's better to only have the film inside. Anyway, as is saying Oscar, a glass glare and the film just reduce the glaring to a non-blinding effect, it don't cancel it totally.

If you want a glass who don't glare at all 100%, use a level 12 welding glass

The boys are right. The Vortex only have anti reflective inside. And it cuts off maybe 50% of the glare. If you compare it to a crystal that is not AR coated, you will see the difference.

Of all my watches, the one I have is the best. I do not get a sun spot inside the car for example as others will have that half dollar bright spot that my wife complains about. A new Tutima will shine like a torch. Is it possible some of the early models had more anti glare? I am not kidding, this thread surprised me... Vortex sn85
