i was looking to use it to go to work.  so i  thought the 250 was the most eco one.  but seems most think the 500R is better.  say the front brakes are too touchy on the 250R.  ever hear that.  the 500 is almost double the price of the 250.  and again not as good mileage but not bad.  i only have to drive like 7 blocks to work.  further to the hospital and post though.  thought i could just fill it up like every 3 weeks or once a month since it gets around 80mpg.  how heavy is the 750.  the 250 is like 308 lbs and i think the 500 is like 60 lbsmore.

looked at the honda rebel but it got bad reviews and has drum brakes and that is stupid in this day and age.  i guess it is really retro in more ways than one.  also 500.00 more.  other choice is suzuki but katania.  but they are lots more and kawa seems to have more reliable and better built bikes.  open to  suggestions from all.

You may want to look at the Ducati Sport bikes and the Triumphs are making a Big comeback...both well made, but for reliability the Hondas and Kawasakis are still rated high ! Get a Consumer Guide issue on Bikes...they have all the good and bad of most every bike made...:D looked at the honda rebel but it got bad reviews and has drum brakes and that is stupid in this day and age.  i guess it is really retro in more ways than one.  also 500.00 more.  other choice is suzuki but katania.  but they are lots more and kawa seems to have more reliable and better built bikes.  open to  suggestions from all.

dont overlook dual purpose bikes like the honda 650 or the Kawasaki 650

they are bulletproof reliable and you can go just about anywhere on one while enjoying 50 mpg. They also have a upright seating position thats much more comfortable and the handle just as well in the twisties.

I ride a KTM 625 sxc and its a great hooligan bike that gets great gas mileage!
