just received a helson sharkmaster 1000 and am looking for alternatives to the mesh. Candidates to date are hadley roma "heavy metal" (i have seen some vintage ploprof's with similar), armida/artego-style chunky steel bracelet. I had thought of harold's new beads-of-rice but cannot locate this (or similar) combo anywhere- does anyone have images of a ploprof on a beads-of-rice?

Yes the SharkMaster 1000 has a 22mm strap size but the SharkMaster 600 or "Ploprof" has a 24mm.
So you have the 1000 or the 600 ? Because you named Ploprof...

Yes...the Sharkmaster 1000 is definitely 22mm. Very nice piece mellons (I see you had it on a sweet Isofrane...or maybe Helsofrane today which seems like a comfy combo).

I do really like the look of the 1000 on the mesh, but understand the mesh may not be for everyone. I don't have an image of one on a BOR style bracelet, but here's a 5 link style bracelet that someone has their's on (not my pic - user jordiher out in forum land). The BOR would likely be a good combo though.

Ok, so if we talk about the Sharkmaster, I will cut the Ploprof title in your topic.
I like the choice they have there: Some more in the "Folded" area...http://www.watch-band-center.com/watchstrap-s692h689-SOLID-22mm.html

There also was one vintage omega that had an oyster-type strap that looked interesting. I am looking at yokobies beads of rice with solid clasp ATM. That's the thing, I would have thought the original ploprof should have used an omega beads of rice. But no sign of anywhere!

Ok, let's agree on what we are talking about here:
Seamaster 600m "PLOPROF" from "Plongeur Professionel" is that:

Seamaster 1000m is that:

So, what are you talking about: The Seamaster 1000 homage from Helson right? Because the 1000m is a "Plongeur" and is a "Professionel" but it's not his nick-name...
The Ploprof came with this bracelet, mesh, rubber/isofrane through the age and versions. Never seen any BOR on it. But it might have been tried...
Now for the 1000m , it's mostly common with mesh or isofrane now.

this is mine....

this is harold's BOR...

i suspect i will need to brush-out the polished sections of the strap if it works....

what do you think? he has a solid clasp also (more like the omega "seat-belt" type)

Yeah, I knew that you had the 1000m homage but when you always name Ploprof, I get confused...
Ok buddy, well: There's an alternative of brushed/polished who might look stranged on a fully brushed case as well as it's a thin bracelet compare to the massive hight of the watch.
That's the only troubles there...
I would have go for a stronger/thicker roundish brushed bracelet like that:

I have a good feeling about this one and your Helson SM.1000m.
A bit like the Ploprof original bracelet on the pic I posted, but heavier like the watch you have. Skinny bracelet on a massive watch is no good for me.
It would look cool IMO and the clasp is solid , price is right

I see...But they had a 22mm with 24mm end-links you could file down to 22mm as well.
Well, it's a choice...
