Really sweet looking new chrono from Steinhart!

...and I agree with Oscar's comments...I totally dig the sandwich style dial and the choice of green looks perfect, 2-register layout with a Top grade chronometer rated 7753 is awesome too. I also agree there is a very good chance that the case is brass and can tell from personal experience with the 'bronze' bezel on the apollon...the bezel is indeed brass. May not be a big issue if you know what you are buying, and with this chrono having no water resistance level rating you won't be exposing it to salt water submersion.

Still a looker though...

The water resistance on this watch is minimal. Not acceptable at this price point.

How can you have a "marine " watch that you cannot get wet?!?!

There's different categories of watches at Steinhart: The divers and the Marines.
The divers are for diving.
The Marines are inspired from deck watches who was used to chronometer torpedo launch or nautical position as well as giving accurate time.
Used on the deck when it was good weather and in the steering cabin in storm weather: No deck watch had ever been known for it's water tightness.
I say that in case you would think that they was timing position when standing on deck in the middle of a storm and getting wet with 50 feets waves...
Those watches never was planed for any diving. I can even say that at the time seamen was using those deck watches, very few of them could even swim.
In fact, the price would be serioulsy good if it would be real bronze.
We talk about 1500$ for overseas.
This movement, case&dial work would be WELL worth the small price difference you have with a CuSn8 bronze case and 2824-2 around here with other brands.
That's why Oscar says that it must be brass for the price.
