Folks, what do you think of the new Rolex GMT2C with a solid ceramic bezel (not 2 piece) having blue and black colors?Pic is from the web.

This is the watch we was discussing in the previous Rolex topic...
I personally like the colors: Better than what was done before.
This day/night contrast is more realistic or natural than a pepsi bezel IMO and the blue GMT hand gives a nice contrast on the dial without being too flashy.
Many would have preferred it in 42mm but since Rolex want to keep them watch on the small side...
I bet they thought at the beginning that big watches would be an ephemeral effect but 42mm never been big anyway.
Since they sell much in Asia now and that people are usually smaller than Europeans there, I guess that the 40mm makes many WIS happy anyway.
I think as well that they should get rid of the cyclop who makes the date unreadable as soon it don't stand in line with it...
But if you love the watch as it is and like those colors: Yes, go for it.
Those colors makes the watch very masculine and discreet IMO.
On my side, the price will always stop me: Even if I have the money.
But it's my own vision and priorities.

It's a great looking GMT for sure Jeff! thumbsup.gif

As I noted in the other thread discussing this one along with the Daytona, I think that now that Rolex has gotten through the challenges of manufacturing a 1 piece, 2 color ceramic bezel...it is only a matter of time before they offer both Coke and Pepsi versions of this one!

Some more infos:

EXCLUSIVE TWO-COLOUR CERACHROM BEZEL

A technological and aesthetic feat, the new CERACHROM bezel insert is obtained by a unique process developed and patented by Rolex which allows this ceramic component with two distinct colours to be produced as a single piece. It echoes the traditional two-colour bezel of the original GMT-MASTER and GMT-MASTER II models. The CERACHROM insert, introduced in 2005, has the advantage of being virtually scratchproof, highly corrosion resistant, and its colour is unaffected by ultraviolet rays. Its diamond-polished surface presents an exceptional lustre. The engraved 24-hour graduations are coated with a thin layer of platinum via a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) process.

Rolex GMT-Master II 40 mm in 904L steel with a 24-hour rotatable blue and black ceramic Cerachrom bezel insert, black dial and Oyster bracelet in brush and polished combination finish.

It was love at first sight for me, John. Those colors are my favorites whether in casual gear or suits are the office. And the process that Rolex used to make the single bezel have 2 colors helped. Imagine, starting it out in blue and then carefully adding in the black.

Will/Chris....thanks for your inputs. I think the Batman/Bruiser/PepsiMax/BMT....whatever they call it---, will follow the routes of the Hulk, the Cokes and Root Beers.
