LMAO :D I don't know how he gets any work done! The last time I called I talked to him ( ok mostly I listened) we talked for over two hours! Ron's straps like the one pictured don't fit the deployant clasps! don't even waste your time ordering Rons Crocs if thats what you want to use them with. The reason I cut up that blue strap to fit the SAII in the first place was because I experimented with methods to flatten the strap to fit the deployant and seriously trashed it in the process. Genuine "BoB" Straps have a special model line just for deployants that will fit the deployant clasps perfectly and they cost the same as Rons straps too. Rons Croc straps are really nice straps though so if you want to use a regular buckle with them they are defanatly worth checking out! This clasp is a nice clasp it has an improvement over the genuine pam clasps even! The buckle uses a spring bar instead of a pin so its easier to change the position of the buckle on the strap and you don't bang up the buckle trying to pound a pin in and out! There is something to be said for the simplicity of a pin there but I'll take the spring bar! Last edited on Tue May 30th, 2006 06:50 pm by OldeCrow |

Oscar It's amazing, the last Invicta I bought was the OGII and it was just "so so" compared to this! It had the tiniest little ding on the side of the case but I polished it out with the Dremel first thing. It's also got some crap on the Orange 12 o’clock marker but you can't tell it's there without a Lupe on. When I get bored I'll open it up and clean off the marker. This is an Overstock.com SAII and I presume the above mentioned blemishes are what landed it there. It's more comfortable on my wrist than the OGII (the OGII was the last Invicta that I actually bought), something about the shape makes it wear better on a smaller wrist so that’s a huge bonus! The fit and finish on the case and bracelet are top notch; conspicuously missing is the "INVICTA" brand tattooed on the side of the case and mid links. Besides the above mentioned crud on the 12 o’clock marker the dial work is nothing short of amazing. To be honest I am surprised and impressed, this is only my second Invicta Purchase (though I have several others from trades) and it’s just not the watch I would expect if you believed all the bad press this brand gets on the web! I know the invictaphobes out there hate to hear such blasphemous talk but I am going to have a hard time beating that dead horse much longer if I keep seeing watches from Invicta like this. Makes me think a lot harder about that new scuba model that’s for sure! The only complaint I have about the design is the bezel, it’s difficult to turn when everything is dry and I imagine it is impossible to use at all when you’re in the water and every thing is cold and wet! The coin edge needs to be taller and deeper and not rounded off then the watch would truly merit the 500 meter depth rating. Of course that really doesn’t matter to me cuz I am a desk diver but if it’s there it should be fully functional.
