I don't believe much has changed except the price since you last asked in 2013 Greg...dog smile.gif

Hi Greg, are you set on a Sevenfriday? or are you open to other brands?

If you are interested in the concept of the SevenFriday, but looking for a lower price point to try out (and maybe you want a slightly more conventional round case?)...you could check out the Ancon X-35.

(looks like they've even added a carbon fiber polymer case lineup along with a smaller 42mm ceramic case model, as the original case size is 45mm).

Here's a pic of mine with the regular ss case (w/grey pvd coating)...does not get much wrist time, so I'm thinking about letting it go.

I'm open to other brands. I like the 7F but it appears it maybe a pain to read. I have a few on the list...oris, Jean Richard.... It's driven by the wife she wants ne to get something special.....

That's good to know Greg.ThumbsUp02.gif

So you are in hunting mode right now, and the wife wants you to get something special (for your big # anniversary coming up)...correct? Love it when the wife says to get something special!

I would ask you: What "special" pieces have been on your radar (past & present)?

I'm thinking out loud here, but if my wife tells me to get something special, I'm going to go straight to my grails list. I think I personally would tend toward something Iconic & Classic, but that is me. What are you thinking??? Because we all know that is what
REALLY matters anyway.

Do you have a price range in mind?

Are you looking for something "different" or something "special"?

Ah, so many questions! subtlelaugh.gif peace.gif

1k is my limit so it's sub grail territory. For my big birthday a few yrs ago I was going to get the omega speedy. She convinced me to get the moon to Mars version and I'm glad I listened. It's different, has a bit of color..... She said it would always remind me of the big one! I have a file on my laptop with about 40 watches that are on my list and she turned up her nose to all of them...she's making it hard. Said they look like all your others.....so I'm hunting 😃

Ok, Ok...well, this is a challenging hunt indeed! subtlelaugh.gif

The Moon to Mars Speedy is a GREAT one (and a unique one too), so I can't argue with her advice on the choice for your BIG B-day. Great choice! thumbsup.gif

So the hunt is really all about the "unique" and "non-derivative"...maybe "memorable" but certainly "unique". Definitely not similar to the watches in your current collection is what I'm hearing.

You've really got your work cut out for you Greg! ...40 watches that are on your list, and not getting any love on any of them...man, that is challenging! How long till your Anniversary??? Trying to figure out how much time we've got to come up with something for you! dog smile.gif

We should probably change the title of this thread to Greg's Epic Watch Search (worthy of a big time Anniversary)...subtlelaugh.gif

That is true..... I'd love a sinn 240st but a little to much for this time around. Anniversary was a week age so no rush. She's looking for that perfect pair of diamond earrings so we are both in the same boat....

I'll keep my thinking cap on Greg...the Sinn 240st is a great watch for sure (and you aren't that far away from your price target on that one).

I think you've already considered some models from Alpina...

Let's see if we can think of some others.

Hey Greg - what's on the "off" list - that might help the thinking caps a bit... homerthinks.gif
