I'm planning on getting a new watch..."aren't we all". A few of the Dievas catch my eye....Are they worth the price??? Looking to spend no more than $1K...I'm looking for something different....TIA

I think Dievas watches are really well made.
German made cases and Swiss movements.

I like the whole Dievas line up. Especially the Vortex & the Focal models.
On my radar for long time.

I think they are worth the money.

Chris owns a Focal.

He can surely more talk about.

I agree with Phil. The Dievas watches are very well made.

You said you are looking for something "different", so I'm wondering if you have a specific model in mind. I own the Vortex, Focal, Kampfschwimmer, and a pilot styled LE called the Flieger Timer. They are all great watches, very well built, but very different from one another.

The Vortex and Focal are similarly styled (Vortex is Ti and the Focal is made from that Hardened Dievas 6Steel, which does appear from my experience to be EXTREMELY tough and resistant to scratches of any kind!) There is not a single mark on my Focal. I would say the bezel action on the Focal is more robust than the bezel action on my Vortex, and I know that is something they tried to improve on when they built the Focal. The Ti versus Steel certainly lends to a different feel on the wrist depending on what you are going for.

I would have no reservations recommending one, especially since you are looking for something different.

I was looking at the Vortex all black that Gnomon has in their email today....They appear to be well made but was a little hesitant spending that kind of money on something I'm not familiar with....

I don't know how the All-Black version of the Vortex might compare to the regular one...the only thing you might not care for would be the bezel action, which is not ultra-precise with really firm detents if that makes sense...The Vortex bezel action has a little play to it IMO.

No problem Greg. I don't want to keep you from the watch with that comment, and I have no idea of knowing whether they have reworked the bezel action on the new pieces, but that's how the bezel action on my Vortex is (guess I've had it for 6 years or so and the poor bezel action has not ruined my enjoyment of the watch...but my Focal has better bezel action). I do still really like the Vortex though...that Ti case makes it very light on the wrist!

I just saw the Gnomon email you were talking about...I had not realized they are offering new "Direct Pricing" (love the lower pricing including free DHL shipping...that's great!).
