Those are great prices...

I kinda like this one "Elysee Automatic Pilot Watch #80290" though I'm not familiar with the brand :)

Any thoughts?

I like the same one.  Looks like a great deal and the Citizen movement is one I like a lot.  Marc (IW) posted that they were going to go a lot higher in price and that is why he is dropping them.

FWIW, I've owned a bunch of Elysee watches. In fact my very first purchase from IW was an Elysee Quartz Chrono. I still have it. They all have been very nicely made. My absolute favorite was a Covair model (I think that is what it was) that had a 24 hour hand much like the Arbutus 74B or the Glycine Combat. I never got one, but I had a couple that were nearly that watch. They always got compliments when I wore them.

If I were to recommend an Elysee from the models Marc has left, I would chose the Elysee Auto GMT #49031. That is quite a bargain. I don't know why I'm not snapping it up right now...:)

BTW, picture this watch on a black Hirsch Liberty strap instead of the medium brown it comes with.

MC what are the movements in that watch the same as the Stuhrling watches.  The window placement looks the same.

I'll be honest and say "I do not know".

BUT, being educated as to where the movements are sourced from, I'd say probably 'yes'. One thing this movement does though that is 'phat' is that after 31 days elapse, instead of rolling to 32, it goes to the 1st (1 in first window; 'st' in the second). Then it turns to '02'. So forth and so on. (I'm not 100% sure of the details, but I know it doesn't roll to 32). This is the only watch with Big Date that I've seen do this for less than a few G's.

For those who like deals check out the Elysee prices on this site:

http://www.bacario.com/results.asp?CurrentPage=1&CategoryID=1&BrandIDname=&BrandID=61&PriceID=&cat=Watches&DepartmentID=1

Then check out the close-out prices on Marc's Island Watch site.

Deal or No Deal? :D:D:D:D:D
