there's nothing I can do about it!  :X

Small PC problem..........so I call technical support.

After 3 minutes of listening to a tape telling me to go to a web site where all my problems would be solved, my "helper" finally picked up.

DOESN'T ANYONE SPEAK ENGLISH ANYMORE?!?!?!  huh? huh?

I could understand maybe every third word he said and had to keep saying what?/would you repeat that?/huh?/what? what? what?

Double damn!  I'm really ticked.........yes, the prob. was eventually solved and now I have a blinding Excedrin headache.  Don't English-speaking people exist anywhere anymore?  I'm going to off myself.............geez!

Sorry about the ranting and raving, but . . .

You must own a DELL! I have had to call them and I know where you are coming from. It is very hard to understand the Indian speech patterns. At least over the phone.

I don't use a DELL computer (thank goodness), but I do have two of their monitors. Both have been replaced and now my replacements are going bad. Each time I have called it has been a 2 -3 hour process.

As a matter of fact, it's not a DELL; but, the CS or Tech Serv. is Indian.  I guess no help is available in the United States of America........everything is outsourced.

Oh, sir, you must be mistaken, or something, about your troubles with DELL.  Their commercials assure one of top-quality everything--they're so good, CS/TS isn't even needed......LOL    2-3 HOURS????? That's a sin and, what's sad, is there anything we can do about it, that I know of.  :X

Actually, some companies listen. Apple (the computer I use) shifted their tech support to India (like Dell and others).

However, they recently switched back to the U.S. after numerous complaints from Mac Users.

Thing is:  the ones trying to help are very nice, but it's like with doctors from there--nice, polite, courteous, but I manage to catch only every third or fourth word.

Adding all that up equals:  I don't know what they're saying.

To make it worse, we know we're getting this treatment because company X is saving a few bucks with their bloody outsourcing and doesn't care about us, their US customer.

Well, I've managed to thoroughly depress myself now, so will sign off for the night.

it is an amazing problem in ever industry. I call for support for my cell phone, the tech barely speaks English. I call for help with any appliance in my home and I am not calling America, but some other country.

It is a real problem. But what a joy when you finally do connect with someone who understands you...lol

Am I the only one that watched that 30 days show with the IT guy going to India to get a job for 30 days?  Very interesting show and if it reruns you should watch it.  After I watched it I realized it has more to do with putting a footprint in other places of the world then it is to save money.  They offer jobs and now they have another place to sell their products.  My guess would be that you will see such jobs coming back to America once these business have a hold of the area.  The other thing you will see is that a large amount of stay at home moms or dads will be the people to fill these jobs.  The calls will hit a routing center and dispatch to their homes.   Unfortunately for you........We can hardly speak english these days.  Pretty much the fault of spell check and computers.
