I have been thinking of ordering a sampler box of cigars from an ad in a watch mag.....you've all seen the ads ( for $29.95 you get 10 cigars worth 100 bucks ) Does anyone out there have any experience ordering this way ???? Are the smokes just old closeout brands that never sold well ????

I buy a lot of Cigars that way from http://www.jrcigar.com/index.cfm they have weekly specials and if you get on their mailing list they will send you the deals weekly! I have bought some super close-outs from them...Like a Box of S.T DuPonts Chuchhills for $49....those retail at $12 a Stick! I also collect Gars and enjoy breaking out a good Swag with Friends....what was included in the Sampler you saw in the mag?:) I have been thinking of ordering a sampler box of cigars from an ad in a watch mag.....you've all seen the ads ( for $29.95 you get 10 cigars worth 100 bucks ) Does anyone out there have any experience ordering this way ???? One offer is from Thompson Cigar Co. ...... they offer in house brands , so who knows what you'd be getting unless you have tried them before........the other is Mikes and they offer Aturo Fuente, Macanudo (I like Macanudo) LaCloria Cubana, CAO, AVO, Montecristo, Bauza .....At the very least I could try them out and see what to order next...My selection here in Green Bay is limited and the expertise is even more scarce....

I buy from Thompson, as well as from JR Cigar, Famous Smoke Shop, Cigar International, and a couple others.

I will sometimes buy these offers, even the Thompson house brand ones, just to see what they taste like; way cheaper than ordering a full box and discover they suck. You never know, you might find gold among the pyrites.

For a super smoking cheapie, try the R&G from Thompson: two boxes for $69. They are my fav everyday cigar and I have them sent automatically (Thompson's Cigar Club) every 5 weeks.

Jim
