Can someone tell me about Rado?? They seem to be a look alike to a Doxa and from what I see their diver is very nice looking. If you have them show them or tell me about them. There is a Rado dealer in my area so I can finally visit a AD......TIA

Rado has a very distinguished history of innovation and quality. Many of us cherish our DiaStars and Captain Cooks. I have a 30 year old DiaStar that still looks new because of the Tungston Carbide finish and still keeps great time. They are now a part of the Swatch Group I believe.

I got very intrigued with the Rados after seeing them here. I recall Oscar, Edgel, Eric and JP having them. JP hasn't been flashing his too often but they do still show up.

I grabbed a vintage Captain Cook as that to me is one of the truly iconic watches of my lifetime. I thik its a very cool vintage and I don't do vintage naturally. Oscar just recently had his redone and I would love to see it!

I checked the current line up out at an AD last spring and came away a bet less interested. The watches were smaller than I like and felt a bit light. I expected more heft. They were however very blingy with the mongo high polish anti scratch wunder material construction. I needed a deeper discount from the $1350 list than the AD was willing to give up. I looked at both the Orignal Diver and Diastar. The Diastar was less of a chunk of change but it was a bit smaller I think. I do remember the Diastar having nicer caseback work than the Diver.

I love the look of the Diver in green and would love to steal one used. I don't see them too often during trolling... Go check 'em out... it'll be fun.

Here's El Capitan.

and on the chicken skin strap it came on... Long live

CAPTAIN CHICKEN STRAP
