IT IS HERE!    IT ARRIVED AND IS ON MY WRIST AS I TYPE!

My wonderful MARCELLOC Classic is here!  It is gorgeous, and I am delirious with joy!!!!!!!      snoopy1.gif   snoopy1.gif

Isn't he handsome/she beautiful?          snoopy1.gif

case:  39mm w/crown

thickness:  6mm !!!  (this is so incredible; it's like wearing nothing!)

movt.:  Pesseux 7001.......HANDWIND!!!!   snoopy1.gifsnoopy1.gif

lug:  19mm

lug to lug:  43mm

I don't know if it's a Sapphire or Mineral crystal.

the lume seems to be very good-excellent (haven't had it long enough to be 100%)

It has a new CROC strap with my favorite:  a deployant clasp    party.gif

I think it can be considered pretty much a rare piece.  I've been checking everywhere, but can't seem to find one--especially with the handwinding movement.

Our friend, watchboy, was the person from whom I obtained it.  Can't recommend Jacky highly enough.

  I am SO, SO delighted/happy/et al.  happy1.gif  I think  I'm in love..........  hearteyes.gif

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYBODY!!!!    happy1.gif  smile25.gif

It is very typical of the IWC pilot watches I've seen.

As I said at the top, it's pretty much a rare piece now cool10.gifbecause the Pesseux 7001 handwind doesn't seem to exist anymore no matter where you look online.   :D

It is definitely NOT a Unitas movt. and the new MARCELLO C classic is using the ETA2824-2 from what I've seen.

Besides its beauty (to me), the handwind movt. is a biggy. snoopy1.gifsnoopy1.gif

I think you don't realize I am familiar with watches, it's just that I can't buy 99% of the ones you do, either because of its style or size.  Tim Temple was a great teacher for me.

Gentlemen:  this is unladylike of me but:  nyah, nyah, I've got a great timepiece that you won't have probably......smile25.gif     Thanks again to our swell

"watchboy"--Jacky.

Thanks again all of you.  I'm glad you seem to like it.  The only difference is that I can say:  I LUV it!  :)

It is a beautiful watch. Congratulations. The movement is gorgeous!

Marcello C does make some mechanical hand-wind models, but I don't believe the U.S. importer is bringing them in to the U.S. They are on the German site only.

Very nice watch. I'm biased toward pilots and military watches, so I like this one quite a bit. Enjoy it.

Thanks a lot, Mr. Pacific........

If you could only see it in person, so to speak. :D  The picture, while good-looking, doesn't do it justice, if you can believe that.  I am in luv.......snoopy1.gif

Must I remove it before I hit the sack?  :(

How was it ever even a qustion???

I thought everybody knew that a Unitas will not fit in a 39mm case......it's almost 37mm wide all by itself.

There was some feeling that the Unitas was the movt., even though I had said it wasn't in my original post.  I had done a lot of research before shelling out that kind of money and found all this:

There is NO UNITAS movt that can fit into a 36mm case!

Here are the specs I found on the Unitas 6498 and the Pesseux 7001 movts.  The last numbers are the diameter and height measurements, which settle the matter, imho.

Peseux 7001

Manual Winding
Mechanical movement with Swiss lever escapement:  Indication of power reserve, hours, minutes, seconds, unbreakable Nivarox mainspring, Nivaflex hairspring, Glucydur balance, Incabloc shock-absorber, fine adjustment device, power-reserve -44 hours

                    d:23.3; h:4.5

Unitas 6497/8

Manual Winding
Mechanical pocket watch movement with Swiss lever escapement: Indication of hours, minutes and small seconds (at 0600 or 0900), unbreakable Nivarox mainspring, Nivaflex hairspring, Glucydur balance, Incabloc shock-absorber, with/without fine adjustment device, power-reserve -55 hours

            d:36.6; h:4.5

The new Marcello C classic is using ETA2824-2 which is a thicker & less expensive movt.

And, until recently, all Nomos models were based on the Peseux 7001 movt.

Even Blancpain's movt is a modified Peseux 7001.
