My office mate is looking to present her significant other with a watch for his upcoming birthday. spending time with me all day has forced her into wanting a nice watch... not something she buys off the shelf at a big retailer.

She's looking for a classic watch on a strap and is partial to my BTP and LP Monaco n terms of styling. she would like it to be an auto. She doesn't want divers or over the top sport watches. I think her price range would comfortably be between $300 and $500 but most likley closer to $300. And she's got just under a month to get the watch in hand.

I would like to see him in something Swiss made and have suggested a Glycine Combat for starters but would like to give her more options...

Would you be kind enough to share your suggestions, perhaps a picture and may be even a good source for any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance 3T!!

The Tissot PRS516 Automatic is a great suggestion.  So, too, is the Glycine COMBAT, however, be aware that the COMBAT is a "family" of watches coming in many diferrent shapes and sizes.

You might also consider a very classic TRIAS Cushion case from Island Watch (http://www.longislandwatch.com).  They come in both ETA 2824 and in Unitas movements.

Pax,

Depending on Sport or dress....I to like the Tissot idea. The Lelocle if she wants to get a little dressy.

I like the PRS 516 suggestion...but on a bracelet.hand6.gif

Thanks for the suggestions so far. My first thought was the PRS516 but she edoesn't care for the bracelet/strap which can be swapped out easily. The other new concern is water resistancy. They've got a pool and do spend a good part of the summer in it... the age old debate...what WR is safe for recreational swimming... I'm comfortable with 50m...

She is liking the LeLocle but thinks the case diameter 38mm might be smallish...

The search continues...

How about a classic Zeno Pilot watch. Marc at Island Watch has this one @ $429.00. It is a 40.5mm case, Swiss Made Auto, 3ATM.
