been out of the car loop for a while. There is a lot of new technological advances in the last few years and I know many of you are familiar with them.

So let me start. I have a 79 Aston Martin. This "exotic" car is not so exotic. It has a 727 TorqueFlight tranny, a Mopar starter, a hemi engine (DOHCs is different from original and it is all aluminum), 4 Weber carbs, GM Smog pumps taken fron the Corvette A.I.R. system, etc,...

The point is you guys know more about this car than you think.

Aston Martin, Rolls and mnay other high end cars use tried and tested components that they can not improve on in their cars. The benefit of this is that they can and do use any kind of part they want.

What I'm doing now is trying to get this thing running like it should. I can not afford to take it to an Aston Dealer or even an Aston shop. They are crazy expensive.

The car is at my local small town mechanic's shop where they are working on the carbs and checking everything out. They are excellent mechanics and hot rodders. I found that these types are the best people to work on any car. They love cars and take a lot of pride in what they do. I bought a shop manual ($250) hey, it has Aston Martin stamped on the cover. LOL

I will be picking everybody's brain in the coming months about machine shops, who makes the best rings these days, etc.
