Mail came late today, so when I got home, there was a package! Overall, I think the Monstrum is very nice for a $300 watch. The crown was initially very stubborn to the point where I thought it was defective. But it wasn't! I just needed to screw it in and out a couple times to work it in, and it appears to work just fine now. The watch is so tall it even overwhelms a watchadoo, so I'm keeping the stock strap on for now, which has the fitted ends (the watchdoo leaves a tall gap, which is ok on the Sea Angler but the crystal of the Monstrum makes the watch even taller). I cannot wait until the Monstrum bracelet is available! Here is my pictorial review (I really need to get a light tent). Enjoy! 1) It was very difficult taking a picture of the dial since the domed crystal reflects just about everything. Notice how the screws on the lugs stick out. More on this later. 2) The size of the watch is imposing. The lugs are the same size as the Sea Angler though, so it is at the limit of what I can comfortably wear. 2.5) Nice signed Orsa buckle. 3) Comparison with the 3T Sea Angler - the Monstrum looks slightly larger. 4) Side profile - you can see that the Monstrum bezel (left) is taller than the Sea Angler. 5) Notice the Monstrum's bezel (left) sticks out a little bit - this is what makes the watch slightly wider even though the basic case is the same. 6) The domed crystal makes the watch 19mm tall. This is the largest watch I own, and definitely earns the "Monstrum" name. It is a beast. 7) The Monstrum has longer screw tubes (top) - this is why they stick out whereas the Sea Angler's (bottom) are flush. No, the Sea Angler tubes do not fit on the Monstrum, which has slightly smaller holes on the case. 8) The Orsa family - Monstrum and Black Dial Sea Angler 9) The Orsa family - notice the AR coating on the black dialed Sea Angler to the left, I think this one has the optional sapphire crystal. On the right, the silver Sea Angler. 10 ) Orsa family - Silver and 3T Sea Angler. Also notice here that the date flip on this one occurs after midnight. 11) You can see here that the 3T crystal reflects light, and has no AR coating. To the right, the Lume Angler. 12) A watch box shot showing my Orsa collection, and apparently my left foot. Only the Orangina is missing! Last edited on Tue Nov 20th, 2007 02:45 am by Eric L. |

Nice write up and a Great Family Shot. Thanks Are all your Anglers the exact same size, its hard to tell in the picture? Your Ocean 7, is that a LM1? What a beautiful collection Last edited on Tue Nov 20th, 2007 07:29 am by hucky |

hucky wrote: Nice write up and a Great Family Shot. Yes all the Sea Anglers are the same size - 45mm. The lume sits a little higher in the case because it on a Dalurian strap, so it appears larger, but it isn't. Yes that is an O7 LM-1.

That was an excellent review - not to mention the great pics. You have an envious collection of Orsa. The others are quite impressive too. :D Thanks for your post.
