Reidenschild brand has the interest cooled?

I was taking a minute off and looked up the Reidenschild Dark Sea Diver Pro, and found it for $299 at Shot at home.

Is it the brand or just the watch getting a bit long in the tooth given that it is the third generation Dark Sea Diver.  It always seemed to be an interesting watch but never pulled the trigger on one.  The Sapphire crystal (I do not know the thickness) along with the other upgrades seemed hold my interest over the production run, and very few watches of any price range tend to be capable of that feat.

I tell you what bugs me. Shopathome has the same wrong description problems that shopnbc does. Example:

Riedenschild Men's Swihanic Automatic Strap Watch

This is a 17-jewel hand wind watch. Not an Automatic. You can find other such misslabeled an incorrect descriptions if you read through the various listings of all the brands.

As for Riedenschild, it got distributed very fast. It was sort of a new kid on the block for a bit and then boom it was all over the place (so-to-speak). They make some nice watches and in time will settle in. There is just a lot of competition at their level.

If you were going to get one which one would you get Yellow or Red?

Yellow is more popular in Europe and the Red in the US.

I have been on the fence for awhile over the yellow Dark Sea Diver.  I like the crowns, and the internal bezel.  What stops me is the Mercedes hands on the somewhat un- busy dial.  I think bigger hands would work better with that nicely patterned dial., or a different dial with the Mercedes hands.  In the latest version, the text "Automatic Move" bothers me, just say Automatic or finish "movement".  I don't see many on sales forums though, that tells me that WIS who buy them like them!  I have a bunch of Miyota based divers that I enjoy, but none were priced anywhere near the $399 of the DSDPro.  For $299 I may take a closer look...

Cheers,
Griff

I believe I will have to take a more hands on look.

Here is the last ebay post I found so $299 US is not bad.
