I have had this watch for a couple of months now and had this happen to me twice already. First of all I really love this watch and the attention it gets and I think it is well made. I usually wear the watch throughout the week and usually for three days straight and it runs just fine. But, whenever I take it off after two or three days of wearing it, it usually stops running the very next day. Within those two or three days of wearing it I usually do not hand-wind the watch (I don't believe I need to). I don't have the means to gauge the watch if it gets fully wound up but I'm assuming that just by wearing it on a regular basis the movement would wind up pretty well and not stop after a couple of days of normal use. I've compared this to my Enzo and the EM001 would continue running for at least 36 hours more than the Zeno would. Has anyone run into this with this movement? Appreciate any comments you may have.

as noted many times on this forum a eta 2824-2 movement needs 650 revolutions per day to achieve full power reserve and if it is not getting that(depends on your arms activity in a day) you can not rely on just wearing it to do so....you need to wind your watch...that's what makes an automatic timepiece so alluring to collectors as you actually are a part of the watch when winding itwatch2.gifotherwise get a good winder like an Orbita and set it for 650 revolutions per day to be absolutely surehand6.gif...or just buy a quartz if you want the freedom of not having to care for a watch

Thanks O. I guess the way to truly test it is to get a winder, set it and let it run at 650 rev, take it out and see how long the watch keeps on running. OK, the race is on between the Zeno and the Enzo.cool10.gif

If its the Zeno Army you could be dealing with an ETA 2452 or 2846 which does require the same 650 revolutions per day. I believe this movement does handwind bt doesn't hack. Regardless, O makes a good point in that part of the joy of the watches is to wind them up.

Sixgears..............why not just carfully hand wind the watch for the test..25/30 careful turns and see if you get better results. At least this would confirm that the watch is running properly:)

Again it's not a habit on my part. I only do it when I know that I won't wear the watch for a couple of days. I don't think it's practical to go thru each watch in our collection and hand-wind each of them on a daily basis but that's just me. Perfect example. Last week I hand-wound my Enzo on Monday because it stopped after not being worn for at least 48 hours. I didn't wind it all week but it kept running. I finally took it off on Friday and it stopped Sunday morning at about 4am. I consider this normal. The week prior to last I did the same with the Zeno - hand-wound it on Monday and wore it for 4 days. I took it off Thursday evening and went to sleep at 11pm. When I woke up the next morning the watch had already stopped at 5 minutes before 6am. With all due respect, I'm not knocking the 2824 movement or Zeno for that matter but I don't think I'm even getting close to the power reserve on this watch.

Lets assume you wind your Zeno at least 20 - 30 turns after it has sat for a day. Now if it is stopping in 12 -18 hours or so, you might need service on the watch. I had a Swiss Made Trias with a 2824-2. It would run and then stop. I sent it back to Trias. I got it back with a note to WIND the watch. The problem continued. So, I sent it back to Trias again. It worked for a bit and then the problem started up again. Back to Trias a third time. It came back this time running like a champ. Never had the problem again. I don't know what they did the 3rd time (maybe replaced the movement?), but it fixed the problem. So, it is possible you have problem with the movement in the Zeno. It does happen!

I had this phenomenon happen to me one time and it turned out to be a weak mainspring. In reading the post, since his ENZO's seem to build up a power reserve under his normal wearing habits, the Zeno should also...time to have it checked out!

Like O , I love winding em up .... I get a feel of a watch when I wind them .... some are so smooth and the sound they make is music to my ears ..... some wind funny and usually those are the watches that go bad on me ......
