I need help .....I remember reading in a thread here a while back that somebody had a remedy to fix the scratches on acrylic crystals , like the one found on these Zeno bubble faces ....I tried to use ultra fine steel wool and I made a mess of things ....now its worse than it was !!! :(

Acrylic can be polished with a very fine abrasive like rubbing compound, simonize or even toothpaste. I have removed small scratches from acrylic crystal with plain old Colgate. Little bit bigger scratch I have used DuPont no 7 rubbing compound. After all the acrylic in an acrylic car laquer is just a very thin film version of the acrylic in a watch crystal. I think most watch crystals are what was once sold as either Plexiglass or Lucite depending on who made the acrylic Very similar polymers are used in old acrylic auto paints.

I used Polywatch on my acrylic crystal Alpha "Newman". It took the nasty scratch I put on it right out hand6.gif Cheers, Griff

x2 on Polywatch. hand6.gif It works perfect on that Zeno crystal! In fact, when I sold my Army Diver I included a tube of it for the new owner! ;)

Here is a link to the old thread CJ...I use Crystal Clear and swear by it.....it acts more like a filler than a polish on acrylic and I have filled gouges in acrylic crystals with this stuff and the end result is sweet...and polished....it works wonders imhowatch2.gif http://www.timetechtalk.com/view_topic.php?id=7721&forum_id=30
