Found this for sale on BWF.

Looks to be the same as Nautilus except for face, crown, and back marking details.

Which came first the chicken or the egg and who designed what?

Is it the case that this particular 500meter dive model is a Fricker generic or house design/model, available to anyone who wants to buy minimum order of Fricker designed and made dive watches with a custom face graphic, crown graphic, and case back graphic being the only things different about the same watch made and sold to other parties several times over?

Anyone know the actual story?

The story is simple: these are high quality watches with outstanding specs, but some independent watch "designer" cannot afford a custom design ;)

"with only the interrior face graphics, crown graphic, and case back graphic being different?"

Well... that's all you will get from most small (microscopic I should say) watch companies ! A generic case/bracelet with a custom dial, crown, bezel and buckle logo.
