I sweat like a pig, so my leather usually starts to develop a gym sock aroma after awhile. I prefer rubber then SS then leather. Leather straps look cool though.

I take my rubber into the shower with me and use an old toothbrush with conditioning shampoo and scrub away. usually the rubber comes out new, black and shiny.

Nothing beats a sweet leather strap. Soft, thick and oh so comfy.

Rubber and nylon first, Gnomon's DiverTec is my favorite strap, then Zulus/NATO, then steel, lastly leather.  I don't like deployants that much, so after just a couple wearings leather looks beat up around the buckle to me, drives me nuts!

Cheers,
Griff

I prefer Stainless Steel.

My dress watch has a leather strap and my G-Shock has a resin band, but my strong preference is for Metal.  I really like the drip dry nature of SS.  I like the heft, and since my preference is for divers....  well, you get the picture.

I prefer SS unless the unless the strap has curved ends to fit the case,   I cant stand the gap between straps and case, to me it gives any watch a cheap look.

It totally depends on the watch to me...for example, I did not like my Hammy Khaki Aviation on metal so I switched it to a Hirsch leather and love it.  Didn't care for my SKXA35 on rubber or leather, but it's great on an SS Oyster.  Couldn't imagine either of my D Minks or my Oris Williams F1 on anything other than rubber!  Some will adapt to anything....to me they are all comfortable (unless it's one of those crappy Seiko rubber straps!)

I wear metal most of the time due to leather would not hold up to the punishment.

Nylon straps are my second most favorite when it just has to work.

Rubber comes in third and is the go to when spending any time in salt watter.  I personally hate changing out spring metal pins on the 316 bracelets every 6 or so months of heavy diving.

Leather is my go to for the office, comities, nights out, time at home, or my personal favorites those Holiday parties and special events.

It depends on the use always.

I usually wear SS but I am beginning to lean towards a thick leather band more and more.  Depends on the watch because it really changes the whole look of the watch.
