Aeromatics are straight up Chinese movements. And if the price is right, why not?

damn hate to hear that, i did just look at their website and they say "Aeromatic & Tauchmeister watches are produced in Asia using high quality components (such as Miyota movements) and are modified and proofed in Germany."  maybe the proofing will justify the 220.00   toon1.gif

1st of all the eta valjoux 7750 is a 25 jewel movement and not 29 so that should tell you it is not a Swiss eta and a Asian clonecoyote2.gif...for $220. you can take a chance as many have with Aeromatic ...some have had luck with them others not...buy what you like but for a couple hundred more you can buy an original eta Val.7750 in a brand that is not Asian on the secondary market...like a Hamilton or Accutronhand6.gif

Well I can tell you I had an Aeromatic Flieger powered by and eta clone and it was not a bad watch in any way shape or form.  Well, weak lume... They definitely have some interesting if derivative designs.

I have not had any experience with any of the asian auto chrono movements. I believe the Tauchmeister (sure sounds German) line does use some Miyota movements. Check with Marc at IW, one of our forum's friends in regards to Tauchmeister watches as I believe he is now carrying them.

Having not ever seen an Asian auto chrono I can comment with any authority but my general thoughts are that the movements are just getting better and better.

ETA copy made in China for a German Company...

The company started off by selling Divers watches that were made in China and put together in Hong Kong, I know the guy who made them in Hong Kong...

He started out selling to this Company and then they cut out the middle man and noew they deal direct with china

Quality control is not so good and so you might get a great watch and have it last for many years or you might get something that stops after a week.... but if you do buy Chinese try SeaGull they are putting out high end stuff that come close to swiss and maybe equal to Japan...
