I want to get a relatively inexpensive manual wind watch.  Are either of these movements preferable to the other?  AS1130 (swiss) or the Molnija 3603 (russian)?

The watches with the Russian movement are somewhat cheaper (by about $100).  The one with the AS1130 is a Zeno.  Is this a reputable brand?  Are they "real" Swiss watches? I have to say that I like the Zeno design a bit more.

Both of those movements are great. The AS1130 is Swiss and used in many Swiss watches. Like the Zeno Basel. I have 2 watches with the Molnija 3603 and they are wonderful. :)

Either choice will be good. You may find the Swiss movement a little more accurate if that is a concern. But both very good hand crankers. ;)
