I just pulled the trigger on a Formex AS1500 chrono (7750 powered).  Watch looks interesting, 2 bracelets, leather strap, and sport strap, couldn't resist.

Curious, how good is the lume on Formex watches?  Will I be disappointed when it arrives?

Don't know about the lume, but I just checked out your watch as listed in WUS. That is a big chunk of machinery. The extra bracelet with allen wrench links looks like serious business. Wear it well!

I have many Formex Watches and the Lume is not that good, but you wont be disappointed in the machinery of the watch.

I have a 70 dollar citizen military dialed watch and the lume last all night long into the next morning just by wearing it at work for the day.

If you bought the Formex for the Look of it, then you will not be disappointed at all, If you bought strictly for the Lume, then youll be flipping it.

Not alot of watches have good Lume and be real here, if you want to see what time it is in the night then buy a mtm special ops Vulture, you will not be disappointed with the light show!

Cheers

This is the Formex DS 200 LE. I would rate it at about average lume. No match for the Seiko's or even say Stowa. But not to bad. I really like mine. ;)

Thanks guys.

Well, I didn't buy the watch for its lume, but I  consider good lume as an essential part of the overall package on watches over $500.  I don't really see any excuse for poor lume on expensive watches.  The Formex has a retail around $2500 and I think sells regularly around $1500, and for that coin, they should be able to slap a coat of superluminova on it.  If it is average, like  a Tissot or Accutron, I can live with that, but if it is poor like a cheapo chinese watch, then that might be a deal breaker.

The watch looks very interesting and I'm a sucker for big chunky watches.  We'll see how this one fits into the long-term collection.

I just recieved one, and I thought it might be a bit to big and heavy to wear comfortably. But with the TI, and easy sizing of the bracelet. It fits like no other. I've worn it several times now. I like it alot. The down side=it does stick out some. Easy to nick. But a real head turner.

I have a GT325 that has really weak lume.

I also have a DS2000, and agree that the lume is pretty average.  I like the blue lume on the hands, though.

Formex watches are a bit of a contradiction -- they look beefy and hefty, but the titanium is so light that they are really easy to wear.

And the case designs are so unique (the upward angle off the wrist, the shade over the top of the crystal, the suspension system) that people always ask about mine.

The lume on mine is so-so, but I figure I'll be at the race track during the day!

I love the look of the Formex chronos, and for such a big watch it is very comfortable

Cheers,
Griff
