I know these are great watches mechanically. I've just never liked the look of the Sinns. They seem very cold and impersonal to me if that makes any sense. Great watch just not my tase.

I will admit though that the Sinn U1 looks MUCH MUCH better on the Sinn Rubber strap than on the bracelet...

A diver should come with both stainless and a dive strap (but I hate the $20 throw in rubber straps that many just throw in for the sake of throwing it)... Get unique like Breitling, Sinn, Doxa, and others with the rubber straps...  I also always have disagreed with companies that charge extra for the bracelet, even though honestly on divers I have become less of bracelet fan except on a handful.. I feel that the package should include both... afterall that is what the watch was made for, versatility to use and wear.

I love Sinn watches.  Owned a U1, it was my first real high end watch, and I deeply regret that I let it go.  I'm not a wealthy man, so getting a new one isn't in the cars right now, but my wife has been saving for my 40th birthday next year, and intends to present me with a Sinn 757 .  If you haven't held a U1, and think it's ugly, you just might change your mind should you have the chance to see one in person.  The rubber straps are great too, with the large deployant clasp.  bracelet is very nice, and chunky, but looks a little plain.

I think the hands on the U1 are an acquired taste..   The first time I saw one I was like those are funky.  Over time I've gone from those are funky, to they are growing on me, to I think I'm going to try one, to one of the coolest watches I've owned, so you just never know how your tastes might change...
