I have sold many watches and I always said a price shipped conus ....I usually offered a higher price shipping option for the overseas shipping .....NEVER AGAIN !!! I sold a watch to a guy in England .....It costed 40 dollars to ship Priority International USPS .... All you get for 40 bucks is a little insurance and a customs track number !!! The guy in England waited a week or so and decided to try and track it after 10 or more days ....He told me that it seemed to be in Canada !!! I thought mabey there was some weird way for the USA to send mail to Canada to go to England ???!!??? I tried my local post with no help and then the big Post Office we have in Green Bay . They gave me the runaround and an 800 number . I tried to get thru several times waiting on hold for a half hour each time before getting spanked around some more ....I had no answers untill I finally was persistant enough to get somebody to try and find the package after I threatened a claim ..... I was told after an hours wait that indeed the package was in Canada and it was attempted to have been delivered 3 times !!!! I said wasnt there a way to stop it and get it shipped back to me ??!?? NO, it was to try to be averted to go to England after all ??? !!! It would have to take its course they said !!! I was sick, as this was an expensive watch ....all this time I was getting no less than 5 emails a day from the buyer demanding their money back ...I was told that the package was going to find its way to England ...so I didnt want to refund , and then the watch shows up there..... and since the buyer had shown anger and called me a lier etc., I was worried I would get screwed ...The buyer had a freeze put on my paypal account through an escalated grievence.... and the buyer had sent me over 20 emails in one day ! so I was a little freaked out .....anyway last week look what comes onto my doorstep out of the blue ... a beat up stickered up box ,after 27 days.....The watch was safe inside though .... I was lucky ......I emailed the buyer to say I will refund right away .... Then as I try to do so , Paypal would not let me !!!! Since it had a freeze on an investigation .... I told the buyer he had to tell paypal to let me refund and it would probably be a few days ...the buyer needless to say is sceptical and thinks I am jerking around .....I got so frustrated I was sick ......Thats where I stand now ..... Now I know why sometimes its CONUS ONLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear you got bit CJ:(. Thanks for sharing, because I too now have a better understanding why' ConUS Only'. I've heard it's kind of a crapshoot when shipping overseas, but hadn't ever known anybody that had problems, till now. I hope everything works out for you.

The kicker to this whole story is that the buyer was a former member of 3T who suddenly up and left. As such he should know CJ and his excellent reputation. I have to say CJ was totally distraught with the entire situation.

Retrospectively its a watch I am glad he didn't end up flipping. Some things are meant to be.

CONUS is safest for us in the States but some countries are worse than others...

It's kind of hit and miss. I shipped several watches to the US without any problems and received nearly as many from the US without problems, too. Mail seems to have its days though, the latest one I shipped to America is still in transit. The Legend is tempting though, so KEEP IT CONUS!;)

CJ sorry to hear about that. This and many other stories I have seen online and a few froem family and friens with international shipments has me locked at CONUS sales if I ever find it in my heart to sell any of my watches or anything else. Glad you got the watch back and hope you can get paypal resolution quickly. Shipping screw up not yours.

Yea Christian it is crazy brother. And it is not you at all. I know that and will tell that to anyone else you have shipped to. German Post even seems to have done their part but Customs seems to have it all messed up. :?

Total bummer!  I need to ship a watch overseas for an update and I'm worried about which carrier to use.  I've had both USPS & UPS f**k up lately.  First I bought a watch off a sales forum that was shipped the next day via Priority mail from less than 700 miles away.  One week goes buy, then two weeks, then three...  This is some Priority I'm thinking...  The guy refunds me and puts in an insurance claim.   Six weeks from the day the guy mailed the watch I get a card in my mail box telling me I need to come to the post office to pick up a package..  Sure enough..it's the watch!  The package was tore to hell, but the watch lived.   I contacted the guy and repaid him for it..

Then several weeks later I went into a jewelery store about an hour from home to purchase a new wedding ring.  I got a tungsten with gold inlay and got a really good sale price.   They had to order my size and shipped it to me when it came in - UPS Next Day..  The next morning I get a call from an old couple about 6 houses down the street saying they got a package for me, and would bring it by in a few minutes.  I'm thinking the address must have been put on the box wrong, but no it was perfect so apparently moron UPS guy can't read...  Good thing I have nice honest neighbors!
