I have seen alot of them lately on all of the Forums, more than ususal in the last 2 years and I see the price of them has come down a bit---cause Im a lookinwoohoo.gif

Question:

Do you think its due to the (economy) that folks are starting to dump them more often and at some great prices? I hate to use that word economy but.

Thanks

Huck

I've seen a lot of Panerais being acquired as well. I wonder if all of them are "genuine" or if they are replicas? I'd want to be very careful and research my source carefully before I spent that kind of money. Even at reduced prices a Panerai is still a chunk of change.

Hey Huck - how are ya today? Yep, seems that there are a few more around than usual. Even the local AD is offering a CRAAAAAAAZY 3% off in their "sale".

One thing to remember is that there are more Panerai for sale these days! Since there are more models from which to choose, Panerai are not that "new" any more. I wouldn't pay full ticket on one ever again - rather wait for a bargain. And I agree with JSB - even if they were 15% off they are still a chunk-o-money. It used to be that you could get "this year's model". Nowadays you can get one of the 15 (exaggerated for effect) that they will release in any one year.

And the really rare models from the past sure haven't come down in price... :?

I have also noticed over the last 3 to 4 months that f300 Omegas are going up slowly, 1970s Omega Ploprofs are stable between 6 and 9 thousand USD depending on condition, and that if you are prepared to go second-hand, you can get an Omega Planet Ocean 45.5mm from 1700USD...  and some poor mug sold his PO 45.5 CHRONO for 1650USD on the bay a few weeks ago. I guess it is where ya look, and what ya got in your wallet on the day that counts...

As for the economy - in Western Australia we are in a massive boom. House prices have doubled, rents have nearly tripled and yet our dollar buys almost the same as a USD (it was around 80 cents US about 18 months ago). Doesn't make life any easier for poor kids here starting out if their first home loan needs to be 500K, and one day it will come to an end - but I gotta say that there are more new BMWs, Mercs, Audis, Hummers and Ferraris on the road than I can ever remember - and that means in about 50 years. Lots of valuable money floating around, supply and demand, percieved value - the world has gone nuts!!

Hope your Memorial Day was a good one.
