Are they any good?  The price is certainly right.  Does anybody know if there is any real difference (beyond the cosmetic differences) between a Monster and the Seiko 5 XXL?  The XXL costs over $100 more, so I was just wondering.

I have 4 Seiko divers and like them allot. Both those you mention. ;)

The XXl uses the 7S36, 23 jewel automatic movement and the Monster uses the 21 jewel 7S26.

I don't own a Seiko diver, but everyone I know of likes them a lot. Their reliability and robustness is legendary and they won't break the bank.

My next diver is going to be a Seiko.  Never owned one, but I think most WIS will tell you they are just about the best bang for the buck diver out there.

My "Monster's" are awesome. I have NO complaints about them. They take good beatings from me. I use them as an everyday watch, and also Everytime I go out on my boat fishing/or just relaxing on peanut island.

I've had a number of Seiko divers, and think they're fantastic.  There's something to be said for a watch company that manufactures their own movements too.  Nothing like controlling the entire production process to end up with some great Quality Control.

I have several Seiko Dive Watches; Orange and Black Monsters, SKXA35 and SKX007....all fantastic timepieces...especially for the $ invested.  There is not much difference between the 7S26 and 7S36 movements...the changes come when you move to the 6R15 and beyond.
