when i was a kid (early '80s), i swear that i had a manual-wind timex similar in design to their current "camper," like this:

does anyone remember what i'm talking about, or am i just an idiot? ...wait, don't answer that.

Believe it or not...when I was a kid (post-Mickey Mouse period), I had a hand wind MIDO...my Dad had a good friend/patient who was a pawnbroker.

I had a bunch of those, it seems. They would run for about 9 months and then stop so I would get another. Back then, I thought that was just how watches were.:P

Yea I had like 3 of them over about 2 years. I complained so much for my 16th B-day my dad bought me a quartz seiko that lasted me up to my 2ed year in the navy when someone stole it.

First watch I ever had was one of those military looking hand crank Timex's. Still wonder to this day what happened to it.
