I've been cruising the sales fora a lot over the last several weeks. I'm looking at Rolex Submariners, but also the Tudor variety. It looks like everybody wants $3800 or better for subs that don't even have box and papers. I know Rolex holds it's value well, but that seems kinda ridiculous. I've come across a couple deals over the last few weeks, but they go pretty quickly. It's also damn near impossible to find full size Tudor Subs. What gives there? Is everybody holding onto them anticipating a jump in the market? Anyway, the Submariner model is a grail of mine and I'm looking in anticipation of me being home in a couple of months. I'm not deadset on any particular reference, but definately do not want one of the newer ones. I hate that writing on the chapter ring. If anyone out there has a 'go to guy' for Rolex/Tudor, feel free to PM me the info.

I'm not chasing either one but I do like to look and see what Rolex/Tudor watches are for sale and what they are going for. And yea I see a whole lot with no box or papers.

Not to worried about papers the serial number can be checked but if paying that kind of money the seller can get off their butt and buy a after market box for a Rolex/Tudor or other grail level watch. :?

The Rolex SUB is one of their most popular models...I actually prefer the GMTII...it has the same look but is much more functional...especially to a military guy that always needs to track ZULU in addition to local time.

One must be VERY careful being a Rolex or high-end watch off of a forum.  The replica's these days are extremely realistic, and I would trust no one that has not had a brick & mortar location for many years.

When you get ready, let me know...I have some contacts (as do many others here).  I (we) may not be able to save you a great deal of money, but we can insure you don't get scammed.

Jeffrey....God's speed, and thank you for what you do!

It makes me wonder if they're selling the boxes n stuff seperate to make a few extra bucks. I Lhearteyes.gifVE the look of that style watch, but think that people are overpricing their stuff just because of the name. I know there are deals out there, but I haven't seen many yet. Patience I guess. I'll probably end up setling for a Tudor, but still have to find one after I get home.
