I agree Ian, alot of cool watches are hard to tell time with, and a little bit is that we are getting at that age ourselves.

Cheers

Hucky - you've made me cry!  hehehe

You're right, of course - and I have a new Seiko SPC001 retrograde on SS to prove it. Darn thing LOOKS pretty, wears comfortably and is the cat's whiskers in terms of timekeeping, but it is almost unreadable cos the hour and minute hand are the same size and almost the same orientation as the retrograde scale, and the other dial markings, and the lume is, well, crappy :X

Ah well - I have an incoming JOA sterile dial PVD Pan homage that will take care of the readability factor. It uses C3 and glows like a torch. Pics by end of week when I expect it to arrive - it is quite pretty.

Seriously - I am now buying watches that are clean and uncluttered just cos I can use them for their intended purpose. And of course their physical size - cos over the years I have become most comfortable with 42 to 45mm cases (plus crown). Are you guys the same (or getting there??), and have you seen a change in the direction of the type of watches you now buy?? And hey, it is not a complaint - just a comment, that some designers get so caught up in form that they occasionally forget the function IMHO - and it wouldn't matter if you were 20 or 100 years old - ya still can't (without a bit of effort) quickly and esaily read some of them!

I'm going to have to extract one of those Robert Magnums from one of the forum members soon, I really like those but haven't found a good one for the right price yet. The search continues... ;)

Have a terrific day all - it is cool and windless in Perth today - that must mean it is Winter :)))

That's pretty cool. Is it rubber integrated into the bracelet?

Ian and Hucky... I find myself sticking with 3 and 4 handers but still sometime having trouble picking out the date!! It's my 42 year old eyes! Never thought I would be wearing cheaters!!face4.gif
