I found an Ebay vendor who has 1000's of sales and very positive feedback from customers (99.8%). Many of his items are very high end Swiss Made watches. I noticed when looking at the photographs that the individual number of the limited edition being offered is marked out in the photo (see below). The seller says this is only in the photograph. Why would a seller want to mark out or hide this number in an Ebay advertisement? There must be a good reason?![]()

On real high end watches I've seen the serial# blocked out, i guess this has something to do with copying for fakes. The only reason I would think someone would block out the LE number, especially on a watch like a GV2 that probably would never be faked is because they are selling multiples of the same model and they use the same pics, the watch in the pics may not be the actual watch you get....I don't think I would consider that a big deal.

Yea it is common practice, many who sell a LE watch do that. Nothing new. ;)

A$$holes will steal that pic and put up a fake auction if it had the serial # posted. You think you are buying an actual watch but you will probably get a bar of soap. I have even seen guys try that with a tractor. There are some real theives out there on the bay. Caveat emptor!

I ended up purchasing a GV2 Heritage from this seller. The watch was exactly as described. Great bargain price for a very nice watch. I love happy Ebay endings. yourock.gif

It would really make me sick if the seller would go through the whole thing like giving an address to go pick up the tractor and then going to get it and find out you have been had. Out the $ spent on the"tractor" and out for the fuel to go and get it.
