The former Bulova watch case factory in Sag Harbor on Long Island, New York is going to be converted into condo's.  Bulova abandoned the building in the 80's.  Sounds like they are going to be high end.  The developer chose to donate to the town rather than incorporate affordable units.

The local County Executive started a "wall of shame" in Nassau county.  They post up the mugshots of the people arrested for DWI in an attempt to further curtail DWI.  They're have been a few high profile DWI incidents in the area.  A young girl was killed when a drunk was travelling on the wrong side of a 4 lane divided highway and hit her limo head on after a wedding.  In another more recent incident a police officer was severely injured when a drunk crashed into his car while he was in the process of arresting yet another drunk driver.

Also has all the local arrests, a lot of crime at different levels...but I guess out of sight out of mind...good that they have it for everyone to see...
