O.k. being a watch fanatic that I am I felt as though I just awoke from a coma.
I didn't even know that Ventura Watch Company has seized to exists as of Nov.07.
It wasn't until I've stumbled onto Chuck Maddox's Watch Blog that I've read the sad news.

Over the course of a decade I remembering reading every watch magazine about
Ventura Watches. I've came across a Ventura V-Matic Loga Chronograph,in an article and asked every watch dealer in Vancouver about the company.

But wound up empty handed.

Hi Simon - I'm a fan too.

Have noticed that they are everywhere on the bay at the moment. BMW design variants. Cool chronos. I like the automatic LCD movement in the LCD variants and will eventually get one - just haven't found one at my budget yet. Unless some kind soul has one they want to let go (hint!!!). The V-matics and Sparxx versions are very tasty...

I did a similar "um.... what??" moment when I found out about the belly-up at the beginning of the year. I would go to dead-end websites, google "ventura LCD for sale" and get 2 year old posts - but I guess it is a game of patience, this hobby of ours. One will turn up when we least expect it...  or twenty at a time and for a lot more than we want to pay!

If you are looking for one, good luck with your search. The Ventura Time by Design range was a breath of fresh air and they will be sorely missed. I don't know of another manufacturer who does automatic LCDs.

Cheers mate! IanM hand6.gif

Don't worry Ian, I'm not looking for one, considering the fact that either a V-Matic or a Sparxx Chrono will probably be in the stratosphere.  Reminded me of the same situation with Eterna, when they've pulled out of Vancouver and landed in Montreal.
The prices shot up overnight.
