I am new to this forum as a member, but have been a lurker for some time. Originally I found WUS, and then found 3T. I have found 3T to be a better resource and a more honest community (I mean that in a good way; it helps when you are researching a product for people be honest about it). I found myself drawn to the design of the Triton, ecspecially in orange. After much research I pulled the trigger on one in the scratch and dent sale (although I was unable to find anything wrong with it, it was in absolutely fantastic condition, possibly all that it had was a slightly stiff bezel at 4:00). I will post a review (with pictures) shortly, but I wanted to thank everyone as the information that was provided on this forum really helped me make my decision.

Welcome aboard and a Fine Score I dont have a Triton but its on my list of must haves, I think you chose a fine watch. Lots of good honest info here and alot of cool folks When ya get it, post it cheers

I am not very experienced with movements, this is in fact my first automatic watch. I have noted that occassionally there is some slippage in the crown when winding the watch. I read on this forum that the Sellita movements can be a bit temperemental with winding. Is this slippage normal when winding a watch?

I have not heard but I have both the Eta 2824 and the Sellita SW200 and have had no problems. But I keep mine on a winder if not wearing them so don't have to bother with winding them myself. ;)

Great choice Bazza! The Triton is already a classic. I have the black one (from Steinhart). I like it a lot. The bezel has a solid response, the case feels indestructible and the dial is really cool. The "slippage" is something to be concerned about, though. The manual winding on a automatic movement should always be smooth. If you notice a variable resistance, there might be a problem :?

Congrats and a great choice! As far as the "slippage" - can you describe a bit more what you mean? Do you mean the hands move when you wind it, or that you can't tell if it is winding, or that the crown sometimes starts to screw down when you are winding it, or that the date changes when you think you are winding it, etc...winding an automatic is a bit different in "feel" to winding a true "hand wind", I want to make sure I understand what you are experiencing...thanks!!!!
