Hi All,

So I have been searching for an auto watch for my wife for X-mas.  One watch I have been thinking about is the Seiko 5.  Then I made the mistake of looking at the Cyber Monday Specials.

So one vendor is offering either a free watch or a 80% off watch with the purchase of certain watches.  So I started thinking I could get my wife a watch and get myself one in the process.  So here a couple of watches I wanted some input on (nice deal?  Nice watch/model?).  I need to stay somewhat grounded so I don't make too bad of a snap decision.  anyways here they are:

Option one (get the wife a nicer watch and try to find a deal for myself:

Options two and three (get a nicer dress watch for myself and find a nice auto for 80% off for the wife):

Any other input would also be appreciated.  Thanks in advance for any comments on my scaterbrained post...

David

It's kind of a hard question to answer...personally I would not buy the Corum or RW, not that there is anything wrong with them...IMO I believe you get more bang for your buck with something from Boshett, Benarus, or Bernhardt (thought to self...why do all these begin with "B") crap.gif  with Swiss ETA or Miyota movements.  I would even look at Vostok-Europe or the Russian manufactures with auto and manual wind movements.

It is really personal choice, these watches will perform as good if not better than the Corum and/or RW at a much better price.

Thanks for the advice and I agree, the problem being that I am finding it really, really hard to find automatic women'swatches from most makers (I have found some from Orient and Seiko).  The second caveat being I am not looking for a diver per se.    Any advice there?  I know Boschett doesn't make women's or dress watches.

This is the lady's version of the V-E Red Square, my wife wears the men's version.

You could also go with some of the Gevril autos, they are actually a mans watch but are in the 38mm to 39mm range

I feel the opposite on the ladies watch....go with the Corum especially at that price....Vostok and Gevril aren't even in the same class imho!...

I own 2 Corum Trapeze and they are amazing watches....Corum is rated one of the top 10 Swiss Watch manufacturers on the high end and if you want to impress someone with a gift the Corum packaging is as sweet as their watches and they come on very high end alligator straps with equally as nice deployants...Corum is very high end and for the price they are selling the auto version in blue $570.....that is a steal and I will be buying one for my girfriend as well yourock.gif

Thanks for the input.  Yeah I had a feeling the Corum was quite the bargain.  So my wife doesn't love it-love it and said she would have to for the price (I think she's a bit crazy but what have you).  So if you want that watch for your girlfriend, have at it(there is only one left).  As for me, I'll keep searching.  She also didn't like the diamonds on the Vostock.  I may just end up getting the Seiko for her, but want to see what else is out there.
