The Omega is an older Speedmaster from the late 60s/early 70s I think. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. As far as the Doxa goes, that's the first one I've seen like that. Pretty Cool from where I sit.

Hi Devin

Don't know 'bout the Doxa - they make some special models but I have never seen that one before. Try the Doxa forum on WUS - good resource.

The Speedsonic is one I am familiar with. It uses the Omega f300Hz tuning fork movement (also used in Accutrons from the 70s onwards) and has a terrific 43mm case which is about 45mm lug to lug. Lug width is 22mm. Model number is (I think) 188.0002. Pretty rare - the blue face is seen less often than the gold/brown faced version which was also available in a G/F case. The pic you are using above has the f300 Speedsonic blue with an Omega mesh (Milanese) bracelet on it. The model was never sold with mesh as standard, but IMHO that mesh sure lifts the watch to a new level.  Pre-economic meltdown prices can vary depending on condition (roughly 1000 to 3000USD is the range I have seen them in). The one in ur pic is pristine. A lesser one is here on that bay and it has a pretty ambitious selling price:

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINT-OMEGA-SPEEDSONIC-CHORNOGRAPH-f300-Hz-ELECTRONIC_W0QQitemZ350141663671QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL?hash=item350141663671&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177

No affiliation with seller - just to show that if you insert "Speedsonic" into Google or practically any search engine you will get many hits.

The "lobster" Speedsonic, with its elongated case, hidden lugs and overhanging case-to-bracelet setup - is very rare, and asking prices are currently in the 5k range.

Interesting watches! But remember not to put a working tuning fork watch on your glass table - the droning of the resultant vibrations will drive you mad!!

If you get one - don't forget the Camera_photos.gi!!

Cheers all - IanM hand6.gifhand6.gif :D

I belive that this very Omega pictured is the property of Toshi, who has posted here in the past.  He has some very nice pieces.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!!!
